Nesting
I know I have been slack with the blogging this week. You see I have been nesting. Now this may make you leap to the conclusion that I'm having a baby, but I'm not. Instead we are going through the process of Permanent Placement (which is kind of like adoption). So........ this is the most WEIRD thing to go through, because you want to get everything ready for your new child but you can't because you may not be accepted. So I have been de-cluttering the spare room (just incase) and if we are not successful it is a job well done.

My new heading
Wow!!!! What a cool title. I just thought I would take a look at my blog because my friend Dee helped me with the new layout. You see I am a novice and even though Dee is modest about her blogging talents, I think she is amazing. Now I know I'm right. Look at my heading. A lovely suprise. Thank you so much Dee. Please check out her really cool blog that shows all her other talents.

P.J.'s
There is a little story behind these pyjama pants. I went to Spotlight to get some cotton for these p.j.'s. Unfortunately there was none on special, so I used my bargin hunting instints and went upstairs to check out the curtain fabric. Look what I found. Unlined cotton for $2.00 per metre. I think they are really pretty.
To make some yourself, take an old pair of p.j.'s and cut them up to make a templete. I then cut around them leaving a seam allowance.
I used some old p.j.'s for the cuffs and waistband and of course some ric rac trim.
I have another pair as well but they are in the wash so I will post them later.

Homemade Laundry Powder
So I ran out of Laundry powder today. I use to make my own laundry goop but I found another recipe to try.
IN A FOOD PROCESSOR
Grate 1 bar pure soap (eg. sunlight, preservene or similar)
Then put in chopping blade and add
1/3 box washing crystals
1/3 box baking soda
Mix together and it should look like above. Add 1 heaped tablespoon per wash.
My friend Dee has another laundry recipe on her blog, so check it out by clicking on the title of this blog.

Shabby Chic Girly Lamp
Miss J broke her lamp, so I recovered it in a variety of materials. Excuse the pins holding it onto the frame as I haven't quite figured out how to join it yet. I am going to make Miss J a matching quilted throw in these same materials. Miss J loves it.
If you want to make one like this just sew together different width strips of material until you have enough to go around your existing lamp. Sew it on (I used my sewing machine) and add embellishments. Then pin it to your frame ;).

These are my homemade bibs made from the tutorial on my friend Dee's blog.

The second lot are from my husbands t-shirts.
